A pilgrimage to San Giovanni to visit the shrine of the popular 20th century saint, Padre Pio of Pietrelcina.
Padre Pio entered the Capuchin order at the age of 15 years.
In 1916 he came to Our Lady of Grace Monastery at San Giovanni Rotondo, where he lived until his death in 1968.
The tour includes a visit to Padre Pio's tomb, his cell and the crucifix in front of which he was praying when he received the Stigmata.
The pilgrimage also features Loreto, the shrine of the Holy House, which is believed to have come from the home of the Holy Family in Nazareth.
Accommodation will consist of Bed and Breakfast for 1 night at aselected 3 star hotel on the Adriatic coast and the other nights in San Giovanni Rotondo.
The pilgrimage normally includes flights to Ancona with a transfer to Porto San Giorgio for overnight. Continue to San Giovanni Rotondo with a visit to Our Lady of Grace Monastery and the Shrine of Padre Pio. There may be an optional excursion to the Sanctuary of St Michael at Monte Sant'Angelo.
