How to book your pilgrimage
Santiago de Compostela

The city of Santiago de Compostela lies in the north-west corner of Spain. An ancient city dating back hundreds of years, Santiago rose to fame in the Middle Ages when it became a magnet for pilgrims across the world who came to pray at the tomb of St James the Great, located in the magnificent Cathedral.
Many pilgrims still follow the traditional ancient pathways, or Camino, first formed by medieval pilgrims. Today, pilgrims can also choose to travel by bicycle as well as travelling on foot or horseback

Fatima pilgrimages
Our Lady’s apparitions at Fatima began on 13th May 1917, the first of six appearances to three peasant children. She spoke of the need for peace and an end to sin and asked the children to say the Rosary every day. Nowadays every month from May to October, on the night of the 12th and the morning of the 13th, huge crowds gather in the Sanctuary at Fatima to celebrate the anniversary of the apparitions. These ceremonies are the highlight of our Fatima programme.
The Visions and Fatima
During one of the darkest periods in European history, the 1st World War and for Portugal a time of bitter religious persecution Our Lady choose to appear and give a message to the world. The three young children to whom Our Lady shared her message were brother and sister, Francisco and Jacinta Marto and their cousin Lucia dos Santos who cared for their flocks in and around the village of Fatima.
From this humble place the story spread throughout the world and we will join the many millions who come here each year to pray.
During our stay we will walk the Way of the Cross to Valhinos through the fields and scrubland which resembles the countryside as it was in 1917.
Our visit to Valhinos and Cabeco and their homes in nearby Aljustrel recalls their simple rustic way of life at the time of the apparitions and the faith and courage they showed as they obeyed Our Lady’s requests. Francisco and Jacinta died in their childhood. In May of 2000 Pope John Paul II beatified them at a ceremony in Fatima and revealed the final “Third Secret”.
Lucia joined an order of nuns and later became a sister of the enclosed Carmelite Order in Coimba. It is through the writing of Lucia that we have the clear and important message revealed to the children by Our Lady to pray for the conversion of sinners and to dedicate our lives to the Immaculate Heart and to Jesus her Son.
Through the devotion shown to Our Lady of Fatima, the late Pope Blessed John Paul II consecrated not just Russia but the entire world in to the care of Our Blessed Lady.
Lucia lived a secluded life but returned to Fatima a few times later to meet with the Holy Father and was present at the Beatification of her cousins. She died in Coimbra on 13th February 2005. Her body now lies with those of Francisco and Jacinta in the Basilica at Fatima just a few hundred yards from the spot where Our Lady appeared to the three of them in 1917.
