Medjugorje

The pilgrimage destination of Medjugorje in Bosnia Herzegovina, was unknown to the outside world until 1981, when on the 24th June six children from the village reported that they had witnessed apparitions of a 'Lady' who declared herself to be Our Lady, the Mother of God and Queen of Peace; and that God had sent her to help us convert our hearts and lives back to Him. The reported apparitions have continued regularly to the present day.

Mancunia Travel Limited were among the first Pilgrimage operators to visit Medjugorje during the late 1980s taking many groups from the UK and around the World, and following many requests we re-introduced this very popular destination into our program.

Although the Church has not yet ruled on the authenticity of the apparitions, the immediate response of the local peasant population to the call for prayer and penance has been remarkable and since word of the apparitions spread, the remote village has attracted over 20 million pilgrims from all over the world.
